Terms and Conditions

Comment on the Swiss Cantons Series episodes and you are in the draw. Five prizes over 26 weeks, plus the complete online recipe book for everyone who sticks with it.

1. Who can take part

• Residents of Switzerland or Liechtenstein, aged 18 or over.
• Participation is free. No purchase is necessary, and no purchase increases the chance of winning.
• One person may take part with one Instagram account only. Entries from additional or fake accounts are excluded.
• Employees of the organiser and their close relatives are excluded.

2. How to enter

Leave a comment under a Swiss Cantons Series episode that begins with your canton's two-letter code, followed by anything you want to write.

• Valid codes: AG, AI, AR, BE, BL, BS, FR, GE, GL, GR, JU, LU, NE, NW, OW, SG, SH, SO, SZ, TG, TI, UR, VD, VS, ZG, ZH.
• Upper or lower case does not matter. Leading emojis are ignored. The code must be the first word of the comment.
• Only top-level comments count. Replies to other comments are not entries.

3. Entries

• One entry per person and per episode, regardless of how many comments that person leaves under the same episode.
• An entry only counts if the comment is posted within 7 days of the episode going live. Later comments are welcome but do not create an entry.
• All entries stay in the pool until the final draw. Winning an earlier prize does not remove a participant from later draws.

4. Draws and prizes

Five draws over the course of the series. Winners are drawn at random from all valid entries.

Runner-up prizes at the final draw: the Cantons Series II recipe book, printed, bound and signed, together with a package of homemade items.

5. Main prize

The main prize is a cooking evening at the winner's home.

• The winner chooses one recipe from the Swiss Cantons Series.
• The organiser brings the recipe and the ingredients. The winner provides the kitchen.
• One evening, for up to six people in total (the winner and up to five guests).
• Anywhere in Switzerland or Liechtenstein.
• The date is agreed between winner and organiser and must fall within three months of the draw, that is by 14 June 2027. If no date is agreed within that period, the claim expires and a new winner is drawn.
• The evening may be photographed or filmed. Nothing is published without the winner's express consent.

6. Notification

Winners are notified by a reply to their comment and by direct message.

Only at that point is the winner asked for their canton and delivery address. No address is collected from anyone before they have been drawn. Swiss or Liechtenstein residence is verified in this exchange.

For the main prize, the location and date of the cooking evening are likewise agreed only after the winner has been drawn.

7. Online recipe book

Anyone who has taken part in at least 24 of the 26 episodes receives the complete Cantons Series II online recipe book, delivered digitally. This is not part of the prize draw and does not depend on winning.

The two permitted misses exist so that a single missed week does not disqualify someone who otherwise took part throughout.

The online recipe book is a separate thing from the free PDF offered for subscribing to the newsletter. The two are not the same file.

8. Prizes in general

• Prizes cannot be exchanged, transferred to another person, or paid out in cash.
• Prizes are shipped within Switzerland and Liechtenstein only.
• No correspondence will be entered into regarding the draw.

9. Data protection

The organiser processes the following personal data:

• All participants: Instagram username and the content of the comment. These are publicly visible on Instagram in any case.
• Drawn winners only: name and postal address, needed to ship the prize, and for the main prize the agreed date and location. This data is requested after the draw and only from the person who was drawn. Participants who are not drawn never provide an address.

This data is used solely to carry out the draw and deliver the prizes. It is not passed on to third parties and is deleted once the prizes have been delivered, at the latest three months after the end of the promotion.

Participants may at any time request information about their stored data or ask for it to be deleted. Such requests must be sent by e-mail to zubicookz@gmail.com. Requests by direct message cannot be processed. Processing takes place under the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

10. Other provisions

• The organiser may cancel or modify the promotion if proper execution becomes impossible for technical or legal reasons.
• Participants who manipulate the promotion, in particular through additional or automated accounts, may be excluded.
• Should individual provisions be invalid, the remainder stays in force.
• Swiss law applies.
